2017 Management and Stewardship Tour

When: Saturday, December 9th, 9am – 12pm

Where: Meet at the Duke Forest Maintenance Shop (click here to generate directions).  Please arrive at 8:50.  Vans leave at 9am.

What: Hear about ongoing timber management activities on the Duke Forest from Director, Sara Childs, and Assistant Director, Jenna Schreiber.  Spend some time hugging trees while you learn how to take measurements foresters use to assess tree stands and make forest management decisions.

Other: Comfortable, durable shoes are a must. Expect uneven footing in recently harvested areas.  Bring water and anything else that’ll keep you warm and comfortable while you explore the Duke Forest.

Registration required; tour capped at 20 participants.
