 ke Forest for our annual Spring Flora and Fauna tour! Led jointly by Dr. N
 icki Cagle\, Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science and Policy and Assoc
 iate Dean of DEI at Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment\, and Duke
  Forest Executive Director\, Sara Childs\, tour participants will spend th
 e morning hiking along the forested slopes and rocky New Hope Creek banks 
 tucked within Gate 26 in the Korstian Division. Under Nicki and Sara’s g
 uidance\, together we’ll discover some of the many species that call Duk
 e Forest home\, find what’s in bloom (it’s been a warm\, early spring\
 , but hopefully we’ll catch the tail-end of blooming spring ephemerals)\
 , and learn a few plant and animal identification how to’s along the way
 . We hope you’ll join us!\n\nWhere: Duke Forest Gate 26\, located along 
 Whitfield Road in Durham.\n\nAccessibility: The Spring Flora and Fauna Tou
 r will include an approximately 1-mile loop hike on gravel roads and unpav
 ed\, dirt foot trails. Some stretches of the hike include short uphill and
  downhill sections and rocky\, uneven ground surfaces alongside New Hope C
 reek. No bathrooms are available. Parking is available and will be directe
 d by Duke Forest staff.\nSpace is limited to 25 participants. Please regis
 ter here.\nOnce tour slots are filled\, we will keep a waitlist\, and info
 rm interested participants if and when spaces become available. Full tour 
 details will be sent to all confirmed participants the week of April 24th.
