DESCRIPTION:Website description: Duke Forest\, owned and managed by Duke Un
 iversity for teaching and research purposes since 1931\, consists of over 
 7\,000 acres of forested land and open fields in Durham\, Orange\, and Ala
 mance counties.  It is currently managed by a team of five (soon to be se
 ven!)\, with help from the Duke Forest Advisory Committee\, student intern
 s\, and community volunteers like you.\n\nWhat: Enjoy a productive spring 
 morning in the Duke Forest performing invasive plant management. Invasive 
 plants threaten our natural resources and the ecology of our local forest\
 , since they affect wildlife shelter and food sources by reducing native p
 lant populations.  As they crowd out native species\, invasive plants can
  increase tree mortality\, alter soil composition\, and reduce habitat. Ou
 r team of 10-15 people will work together pulling\, digging\, and cutting 
 invasive plants\, including Chinese privet\, to restore an area of forest.
 \n\nYou do not need to know anything about plants for this activity:  For
 est personnel will teach us what needs to go!\n\nWear long pants and close
 d toed shoes\, and bring your own work gloves. Recommend you bring bug spr
 ay and a water bottle. Additional water will be available on-site. No bath
 rooms are available on site\, so please plan ahead.\n\nWhere:  Along Erwi
