 e Duke Forest for a volunteer workday at the Shepherd Nature Trail!\nThe S
 hepherd Nature Trail (SNT) needs some love! Join us to tackle some project
 s along the trail\, in which many hands will make light work. Volunteers w
 ill work in small groups under the supervision of Duke Forest Staff to:\n\
 n 	Remove old footbridges along SNT\n 	Backfill and stabilize the trail wh
 ere bridges were removed\n 	Brush up unauthorized social trails\n 	Complet
 e other projects such as cleaning SNT interpretive signage\, as time allow
 s\n\nVolunteers must be physically able and prepared for a good deal of hi
 king and carrying fairly heavy loads! SNT is a 0.8-mile loop that includes
  unpaved walking surfaces and short hilly sections. Volunteer responsibili
 ties will include hiking the trail while carrying tools and materials\, us
 ing shovels to backfill and stabilize the trail with rocks and soil\, and 
 carrying branches and other natural materials to brush-up unauthorized tra
 ils. All participants will be required to sign a volunteer waiver.\n\nWhen
 : Friday\, November 18\, 2022 from 1-4pm.\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\n 	Closed-t
 oed shoes\n 	Long pants\n 	Water bottle\n 	Anything else that keeps you co
 mfortable in the woods (i.e. hat\, sunscreen\, bug spray\, etc)\n\nDuke Fo
 rest will provide: \n\n 	Work gloves and tools\n 	Extra water in a water c
 ooler\n 	Light snacks (feel free to bring your own as well\, of course)\n\
