Please be sure to stay on the gravel roads and designated foot trails (trail heads marked with blue “Designated Access Area – FOOT TRAIL” signs). Bush-whacking and off-trail use is strictly forbidden as it can damage vegetation, undermine soil stability, and potentially damage research and teaching projects. Water and restroom facilities are not available. See Forest Environment for an indication of the types of trees, plants, and animals you may come across in the Duke Forest.
